Registration: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Start: 11 a.m.

Fee: $15 per paddler for adults. Children ages 16 and younger race for free.
Hopeville Pond State Park, Griswold, Conn.

Whether you are a seasoned competitor or an occasional recreational paddler, this event has something for everyone. There are three courses, including one for racing canoes, another for racing kayaks, and a third for recreational boaters of all types. The racing courses are both 10 miles. Directions to Hopeville Pond State Park

From Interstate 395: Take Exit 86 onto Route 201 East. Follow Hopeville Road or the park signs until the "Y" intersection. Proceed to the right. The park entrance is a 1/2 mile to the right, off Route 201. Race start and finish will be in park "day use" area. You can see the lot from Route 201 before you get to the park entrance. Look for Canoe Race signs.
